  • After Napoleon overtook Portugal in 1807, the royal family and royal court camped out at Brazil. Then, after four years the King and Queen returned to Portugal, leaving, their son, Prince Pedro behind.

  • Additionally, the creoles wanted to keep all of the benefits they got from their social class but also wanted to achieve independence. These Brazilian Creoles ended up getting together and lobbeying for independence.

  • The goal of this revolution was for the Brazilians to gain independence from Portugal. Pedro also wanted to run his own country from his parents who ruled Portugal which is what motivated King Pedro.

  • It was a major event when the king had eventually left his son in Brazil because of all the outcomes that had become that wouldn't have taken place without this event. Prince Pedro that was later on King Pedro wouldn't have made all the changes he had during the revolution if it weren't for this one event.

  • The establishment of the constitution for Brazil was a huge event. It was what led to he conclusion of the revolution with the independence of Brazil and the limiting of government.
  • A constitution was formed in order to allow Brazil to be it's own independent country. It had also limited the power of the King and turned what was once an absolute monarchy into a constitutional monarchy.
