Storyboard Text

  • In the midst of WWII, the United States was developing a weapon in a top secret project called "The Manhatten project"
  • Top scientists worked endlessly to create this weapon: The atomic bomb.Eventually, it was ready to be tested.
  • On August 6, 1945 the first bomb, nicknamed "Little Boy" was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
  • Under the cover of darkness in a remote area, they conducted their first test. It was a success!
  • Soon, President Truman was given a choice: To use the a-bomb on the Japanese or not?
  • His final decision was clear: There was no doubt the USA needed to use the weapon
  • Three days later, the second bomb ("Fat Man") was dropped on the city of Nagasaki.
  • FInally, On August 14th, 5 days after Nagasaki, Japan formally surrendered to the Allies. The war in the pacific was finally over, thus ending WW2.
