The man ordered the youngest of his children to take out a single stick then snap that stick. So the son did as the man wanted."Well that was facile to break" said the youngest. Suddenly, the man's IV was beeping and nurses ran in to try to help.
Well that was facile to break.
I have one more request.
Crying, the boys pleaded for just one more minute with their father. Although, the man seemed happy." I have one more request" whimpered the dying man. "What is it?" said the eldest "You see how the sticks only snapped when by themselves? This is similar to you boys; if together no one will harm you but if you continue as you are that bond will never return as it was when you were just little boys" he said gasping every other word. "As a rule of thumb never leave each other's side; I beg you" Then the fathers' life had come to an end.
What is it?
The boys promised their father to do so and, although they were very sad about his death, they were also happy that what they thought would be a waste of time turned out to be a blessing in disguise as what they thought would be lost forever, returned to them. Whimpering, the boys wished their father a good afterlife and left the hospital.
We promise to never fight each other every again. And we will always be by eachother's side.
