Storyboard Text

  • Once upon a time, there were different levels of Estates which was 1st, the clergy, 2nd the noble class,and 3rd the lower class. There were food shortages that happened because of the weather changes which effected the tax for bread and tea. The kingdom had to vote by order.
  • We will send in the taxes for you your majesty
  • I get all the pay for tax

  • Secondly the revolution begins when the clergy and the nobles ended the estates general. The third Estates wanted to make changes for the Government from enlightenment ideas. They were known as the National Assembly. They found this old tennis courtand declared it their new meeting room. So they made an oath to the room called the Tennis Court Oath.
  • We as the National Assembly , should make an oath to this tennis court!
  • Third of all, the constitution of 1791, wascompleted by the National Assembly. It all lead to creating the situation known as a constitutional monarchy. Emigres. nobles,and other people who fled to France wantedto Restore the Old Regime. There were alsopeople who were lower than the upper-classknown as the "Sans-culottes". It was toldthat French Troops raided prisons and killed over 1,000 prisoners. This action was calledthe September Massacre.
  • Let's go restore the Old Regime!
  • Send them to the Guillotine! 
  • Then, there was a Jacobin named, Maximillien Robespierre and under his power, his rule was known as the reign of terror. Then a new governing body came on September 21. It was known as the Nation Convention. The committee of Public Safety was created to form the De Facto executive government in France. Guillotines were often used during the time of terror.

  • After that, there was a man named, Napoleon Bonaparte who was a consul. He had power of a coup which is coup d 'etat.There was a Napoleonic Code which isthe authority of making men over theirfamilies stronger. There was a Peninsularwar which made Napoleon loose about 300,000 men.

  • Lastly, there was the Congress of Vienna.It was basically a series of meetings inVienna. Metternich is known as someone who distrusted the democratic ideas of the French Revolution. He even had three goals which was preventing future French aggression, balancing power, and to restore Europe's Royal Families to the thrones.
