Storyboard Description

This story is about the myths of Prometheus and Pandora. These two myths tie together to explain the suffering of the human race. Prometheus helps humans and saves them from suffering while Zeus and Pandora give the humans a reason to suffer. The speaker in my story acts as the narrator who will take you along the journey of the golden age of humans. Humans had been suffering, shivering, and dying everywhere. They were living in caves without fire and had to hunt like beasts. Prometheus had seen this and wanted to hep the humans. This is where my first scene comes in: The speaker is explaining who Prometheus is, what his powers are, and what he intends to do with them. After Prometheus has decided he wanted to help the people on Earth, he went to Zeus to ask if he'd give them a spark. Zeus persisted and didn't give Prometheus fire to bring to the humans. Even though Zeus refused to give a spark, Prometheus found a way to create fire a brought it to the people. Prometheus went around to every cave and taught the humans how to create fire and thrive. Zeus looked down from Mount Olympus one day and saw the humans farming, living, and thriving and he became furious. He devised a plan to punish the humans and Prometheus, and this plan included Pandora- a woman he would create for the soul-purpose of destroying mankind. Zeus sent Pandora down to the side of Mount Olympus, which was where Prometheus lived. Pandora was apparently a gift to Prometheus and his brother, Epimetheus. She also carried with her a sacred golden box- a box she had been warned by the goddess of wisdom to never open. Pandora had strong curiosity and let it get the best of her. She ended up needing to find out what was in the box so she opened it. When she opened it, she let out these horribly terrifying things. She let out diseases, illnesses, negative emotions, and suffering. These two myths marked the start of mankind, the development of mankind, and the suffering of mankind.

  • Speaker: This is Prometheus. He's the son of Titans and the brother of Epithemeus. He has a power that helps him think of the future. He uses this power to help mankind and start the new golden age. Lets take his story back to the beginning.
  • One day, Prometheus decided to bring his worries to Zeus. He begged of Zeus to give humans a spark of fire, but Zeus refused.
  • "No! I'm not giving a spark to humans, they'll probably try and come up here because they think they're so worthy of living!"
  • But.. instead of listening to Zeus, Prometheus taught humans how to live comfortably anyways.
  • 1. Eventually, Zeus saw that the humans were thriving down on the Earth below the Gods and he became furious.
  • "I know how we can punish these pesky humans and that good for nothing Titan..."
  • A few days later, Prometheus had a beautiful women show up at him and his brother's home. This woman's name was Pandora. Pandora was supposedly a gift from Zeus. A beautiful women with many gifts, including curiosity. She also carried with her a golden box, which she was not allowed to open.
  • Remember Zeus' plan to ruin humans? Well, his plan revolved around Pandora! Pandora was blessed with curiosity and this trait eventually got the best of her. Ignoring Athena's warnings, she opened it and unleashed diseases, emotions, and suffering. This ended the happy golden age and gave the humans their punishment for learning how to thrive.
  • 2. Zeus created a despicable plan. He decided he was going to punish Prometheus and the humans.
