- 22nd Amendment
- The separate election of the president and vice president by the electoral college.
- 24th Amendment
- Removed the excessively long period of time a defeated president or member of Congress would continue to serve after his or her failed bid for reelection.
- 25th Amendment
- No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of President more than once.

- If the President becomes unable to do his job, the Vice President becomes the President or Acting President.
