Oh Milady! How I'm glad to see you! I'm fine... I'm just here exploring the different plants around here.
Oh! James... James... It's you! How are you?! What are you doing here?...
Transport system???
Yes it is... I wonder only how they are able to survive and how they maintain their beauty???
I thick I can help you with that with what I learned back then. Plants live by the help of their transport system!
That rose is really beautiful isn't it???
How can you say such a thing?
Xylem and phloem???
Well, transport system is really important to organisms, such as the plants.
Just like how humans have different systems and have parts such as heart, blood and blood vessels, plants have transport system that is composts of bundles of tubes in their stem, branches and roots. These tubes are called xylem and phloem.
Well you know James, xylem are the tubes that transport water and minerals extracted from the roots to the plants body while phloem works as transporter of food manufactured in the leaves to all parts of the plant.
Oh yes! That's a brilliant idea!
Oh I see. Now things make sense. Xylem and phloem are just like the digestive, circulatory and respiratory system of our bodies.
I really learned a lot today Milady!
It is my honor to share what I learned.
The other extra information I can share with you is: there is what we call tracheid. Tracheids are present in all plant but they are the only water conducting tissue in non-flowering plants.
You know Milady, i realized today that plants need our help, the humans. We should not be their destroyer, but instead their caretakers!!!
Hmmm... Yeah James! you're right, you are very right!!!!
