- March 1935: Adolf Hitler breaks the Treaty of Versailles in order to expand the German military in preparation for an upcoming war.

- November 1936: Germany, Japan, and Italy form an alliance known as the Axis Powers
- Germany Invades Poland
- September 1938: Representatives from Great Britain, Germany, France, and Italy meet at the Munich Conference, becoming the height of Western appeasement after Germany is given what they want.

- August 1939: Stalin and Hitler sign a peace treaty to avoid the Soviets allying with the Allies.
- September 1, 1939: Germany launches its attack onto Poland, breaking the Treaty of Versailles even more.
