  • Rome is located in Italy, and it's surrounded by islands and peninsulas. The peninsula that Rome is on is a boot shape and it is on the Mediterrean Sea.
  • Influence of Etruscan Sports
  • A princess gave birth to two twins and the father of twins was named Mars, the Roman god of war. Then one night there were two men that were sent out to kill the twins, the twins ended up not dying and they were found by a wolf that took them to her den and took care of them. After a while someone found them and took care of them and after a couple more years they were reunited was their grandpa. Then they built a city and fought over the name and it was soon after named Rome.
  • Influence of Greek Architecture
  • The Romans developed in the field of engineering while being heavily influenced by the Etruscans. The two major structures that Romans borrowed from the Etrucscans were the arch and the cuniculus.

  • A gladiator was an armed combatant who entertained audiences in the Roman Republic and Roman Empire in violent confrontations with other gladiators, wild animals, and condemned criminals. Some gladiators were volunteers who risked their lives and their legal and social standing by appearing in the arena.
  • Greek temples were grand buildings with a fairly simple design. The outside was surrounded by a row of columns. Above the columns was a decorative panel of sculpture called the frieze. Above the frieze was a triangle shaped area with more sculptures called the pediment. Inside the temple was an inner chamber that housed the statue of the god or goddess of the temple.
