France has now started to dominate the fur trade and New France has now now been permanently established. Trades along the St. Lawrence have been a main route for traders and the Voyageurs to travel on. They rivalry would be starting to heat up at this point.
The French, Ouendat, Mi’kmaq, Innu and Kichesiprini became partners in the fur trade Which was a good thing until the Beaver War. The Ouendat was also middlemen for the French and other First Nations.
The beaver war, British used the war to challenge the French domination of the fur trade and the Haudenosaunee defeated the Ouendat. The Ouendat were no longer the middlemen for the French and the other First Nations.
