- Johnny comes home beat up and crying. He says his parents gave him up for adoption
- Ponyboy's family adopts Johnny
- Sodapop goes back to school, and gets an education. Money is tight, but they make it through. Soda is very smart, and even the Socs respect him. The Socs change their point of view of the Greasers, and show them a little bit of respect.
- Sodapop gets a well paying office Job. They are able to pay off their dept.
- They are able to move into a nicer part of town now that they have money and the Socs respect them.
