- This comic displays what happened during the five phases of the Fur Trade between the Europeans and the FN. In the year 1500 and beyond.
- Phase Three
- I just wanted to see my mom!
- The First Nation people (like the Mi'kmaq) started to trade with the Europeans that had come to fish cod off the east coast. The British set up areas where they could dry their catch, but they didn't make these settlement permanent. According to Cartier's Journal, him and his [European] crew said they bartered everything they had including iron and metal goods.

- Phase Four
- Things - like furs and transported goods - were brought to and from Quebec and Montreal. Soon, the Haudenosaunee went into war against the French. No one really knows why, but we believe that they were both in a long-standing conflict with each other. After this, explorers decided to go their different paths and became coureur de bois (individual explorer).

- Nakoda and the Cree people acted as middlemen (people who buy from producers and sell it to you) for both the British and French networks. At this time period, voyageurs were essential. But there were hazards to being a voyageur like: transporting boats were hard and going back to the home land could risk their lives.
- If only I had a crew to help me. *Sigh*
- British merchants owned the NWC (North West Company). They counted on Metis and Canadien , but this could result in the crew losing trust with their associates. The HBC and NWC collided in Saskatchewan. In the economy, a shift that took place is when the the Montreal and the Hudson Bay trade came under the British mercantile system. The Red River was where the Metis culture developed.

- Nunavut, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick were the new day provinces and territories that did not have forts. The HBC tried to stop Metis traders from supplying pemmican and furs to the Americans because the HBC were trying to get as many monopolies as possible.
