  • Newton's first law of motion is the law of inertia. An object at rest will remain at rest unless an external unbalanced force acts upon it. Example is a soccer ball, the soccer ball will remain at rest unless an external unbalanced force moves it, in this case it would be me kicking it.
  • Newton's second law of motion is the law of acceleration. The bigger the unbalanced force on an object, the greater its acceleration will be. For example, let's say a fire truck and a car crash into each other. The bigger unbalanced force in this situation would be the firetruck so when this big unbalanced force acts upon the car, the car will experience more acceleration, it will move more than the truck will.
  • Newton's third law of motion is the law of action-reaction. For every action force there is an equal opposite reaction force. Every force simultaneously receives a return force equal in size. For example when you move forward you are pushing off the ground, the ground then pushes back off your foot with an equal but opposite amount of force allowing you to move forward.
