  • Theodore Brewster Taylor or Ted Taylor was an American theoretical physicist, his specified the area of nuclear energy and atomic weapons.
  • He was born in 1925 in Mexico City, Mexico. From 1943 to 1946 he spent those years to serve on active duty in the United States Navy.
  • He then graduated with a bachelor's degree in physics from the California Institute of Technology in 1945. After, he obtained a master degree from the University of California Berkeley.
  • He receives a Ph.D. in theoretical physics from Cornell University in 1954.
  • In 1956, he left Los Alamos to work on General Atomic. He directed Project Orion which consisted on developing a nuclear-powered interplanetary spacecraft.
  • Taylor worked at A Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico from 1948-1956. In that time, he designed fission bombs of minimal size and maximal explosion capacity.
  • In 1964, Taylor served as the director of the Defense Atomic Support Agency. To then in 1980, start a company called Nova Inc. to develop nuclear energy alternative. In October 28th of 2004, he passed way at the age of 79.
