There is allot of rocky soil here, and we won’t be able to plant cash crops here
Lets not separate entirely form the Church of England, let’s just make reforms or changes

The soil in the New England area was so much more rocky and could not lend itself fertile for cash crops; however, small farms growing subsistence crops aided the settlers with vegetable to live on.
We came for religious freedom!
The Puritans wanted to leave th Church of England to become “pure” by getting rid of catholic practices. The Puritians did not want to separate entirely from the Church of England; they just wanted to make reforms or changes.
The settlers of the New England colonies turned to their environment. The timber, fishing, and whaling industries became the stable economy in the cold climate of the North opposed to Jamestown in the Southern Colonies.
The pilgrims and Puritians came to America for religious freedom.
