Saul was had holy oil poured on him. Which made him appointed king. Under Saul's command the Israelites had won many battles. Later the people lost trust under Saul and he disobeyed some of gods commands. God then choose had to choose another king and it was a young Shepherd named David
Even before David was King he had won praise for his bravery. The Hebrew bible tells a story that David had victory over Goliath a giant Philistine dared anyone to fight him one on one. David stepped up to fight him and he had a slingshot and stones with one stone he killed Goliath. Over jealousy Saul tried to kill David but he escaped. Saul then later died in the battle against the Philistines.
Once David was in power he untied the twelve tribes of Israel. David and his army also defeated the Philistines. Then he built the capitol of Israel at Jerusalem
Since David was a fine musician and poet, David is believed to written the many sacred songs found in the Hebrew Bible's Book of Psalms.
After David died, his son Solomon became king. Solomon brought a long period of peace to the Israelite's. He also created many cities and according to the Hebrew bible he constructed the first temple of Jerusalem.
Solomon was also known for his wisdom. He is believed to be the author of the proverbs or wise sayings, that are recorded in the Hebrew bible. Solomon shared his proverbs in hopes of helping people.
