  • 1. Income
  • I believe that income is the most important indicator. I think this because your quality of life is determined by how much money you have to spend. The value of many of the others indicators are based off of your income. With a stable income, you can have an access to a proper education, be able to purchase safe water, be able to move into a safe environment, etc.
  • 2. Access to safe water
  • I think the second most important indicator is having access to safe water. I think this because humans need (clean) water to survive. Living without clean water puts you at risk of various health problems, since our bodies need water to function. Not having a supply of safe water can even lead to death! Having safe water is an essential.
  • 3. Access to education
  •
  • The third most important indicator in my opinion is access to education. I think having an education can be a survival skill. A strong knowledge can contribute in many life situations, such as getting a job, buying a house or car, and any dangerous situation. An education is the pathway to many opportunities. It helps many provide for their families, and live satisfied with their hard work. Education can also be the key in some of the other indicators. Having an access to education can be the key to income, which can manage ones life.
  • 4. Literacy Rate
  • I think that literacy rate and access to education work hand in hand, which is why I think literacy rate is the 4th important indicator. Literacy rate is important because being able to read and write is how you can engage with others. Being able to communicate with one and other also effects the other indicators (heavily). Communication is how you can go after all kinds of opportunities; it is how you can understand the environment around you. Literacy rate helps the development of society.
  • 5. Life Expectancy
  • Life expectancy is the 5th indicator. Life expectancy is ranked 5th because I think the other indicators can effect the life expectancy for an individual. Access to safe water is beneficial to health, literacy rates and an access to an education provide social skills and opportunities, and an income can help provide for a person, or even help a person move to a place with a higher life expectancy.

  • Literacy rate in Indonesia: 95.7%
  • Income in Indonesia: $11,459
