- The elderly aged 60 and older, a group expected to make up to at least 12% and 23% by 2030 .Even through personal health records, its usability is lacking among those that are disabled and elderly (Lober et al., 2006).

- Challenges elderly also face in this aspect include access to PHR systems, access to computers or devices, cognitive disabilities, physical disabilities, low computer or reading literacy and low health literacy (Lober et al., 2006). Many of those in the elderly community also are unable to access apps on certain phones as many today still use flip phones and tend to pay bills over the phone or in person.

- Assistance with how to use technology by physicians, better communication and accesss to mobile health applications will asist the elderly on how to ask for assistance a nd track their health progress. Apps that are for those that have disbilites such as the elderly will be easier to navigate and understand.
