- Jonas is transmitted the memory of warfare and witnesses a soldier be killed.
- Jonas seeing the color red from an apple. This is the first time he see's beyond.
- Jonas is selected as the new Receiver of Memory for his abilities, and for another second he see's the crowd change.
- Jonas meeting with The Giver for the first time and receiving his first memory which is sledding.
- The Giver shows Jonas what a release really is, he decides to stay with The Giver overnight instead of his unit.
- Jonas escapes the community with Gabriel after finding out he was going to be released, travel to Elsewhere.
