- It was now 1944, Vladek and Anja were separated for the first time and didn't know if they would ever see each other again. They were worried about the stories they heard. They though that they would put in gas chambers, then thrown in ovens.
- Auschwitz
- All women to the right and all men to the left.
- I had a bad day and burned them all.
- The book Maus ended with Art getting angry with his father because he burned his mothers diaries. Art wanted to know what his mother went through while her and Vladek were apart. Unfortunately Vladek had a bad day after Anja killed herself and burned all of her diaries because they had to many memories.
- How could you do such a thing!
- Sure. Murderer!
- Don't be a stranger.
