- What does this arrogant boy want from me?
- It's the boy from Bergen-Belsen. He wants my bread? The sheer determination of this boy is incredible! Very Well! I'll give him a little bit of my bread
- Moonface and the other kapos are marching the Jewish prisoners through the freezing snow and dead bodies on the side of the road. They are passing through the Czech houses where bread was lying on the ground for the prisoners, and the prisoners are fighting to get the bread.
- Yanek starts trying to grab Moonface's attention without talking to him, and Moonface is puzzled, trying to remember the face of the unknown boy that is trying to get the attention of the famous Kapo.
- Moonface decides to sit down and start feasting on his bread that he had obtained. He is then interrupted by Yanek, the same boy who tried to obtain the attention of the Kapo . He sparks a conversation with Moonface. Moonface sprints up, and lunges at Yanek in order to test his determination. Yanek demonstrates his determination and then manages to coerce Moonface in giving Yanek some of his bread so that he could survive
