- 1863-1865Until 1863, the union army which led by General Grant has already controlled the whole area of Mississippi River, and divided the Southern part into Eastern and Western parts. In January, 1865, the battle of five forks accelerated the surrender by the confederate army, and Virginia has been held by union army.
- General Grant, I need you to be responsible as the commander-in-chef of our union army.

- 1865On April 09, 1865, General Lee, the head of confederate army realized it was impossible for them to break through the surrond of union army. General Lee's army surrenderred. On April 14, 1865, Lincoln was assassinated by the supporter of Southern government.
- 1865.11.06CSS Shenandoah surrenderred. It was the last surrender which ended the civil war formally.
- After 1865The Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution started to execute since the end of 1865. This Act aimed to scrap the slavery and liberate all the slaves. In 1870, Fifteenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America executed to protect the voting rights of all the black men. The southern provinces were semi-managed by the federal government after the civil war finished. There were a lot of obstacles during the recovering period and there were still some remnants of slavery.
