- You Just Broke Your Leg!!!
- We are going to X-Ray your leg. We Will be using High energy photons to look inside your body! These light particles are in the Wavelength range of Nanometers which is 1000 times smaller than what light you can see.
- The Wonders Of the X-Ray!!!!
- These high energy photons are able to penetrate your body and allow to see your bones! This is because your bones absorb some of the X-rays while the rest pass right on though you.

- See now we can see exactly where you broke your leg and provide better treatment so you can have a faster recovery time. Without this we would have to potentially perform surgery just to see how you broke it this way we no longer have to.
- X-Rays work by firing a beam of electrons from an Positively charged side to a negatively charged side. When these beams collide a very small percentage (1%) are converted to X-rays and then sent toward your body. These beams are then collected by a special film that turns black when X-rays interact with it. Because your bones absorb some of these X-rays is the reason why they appear white and everything else appears a shade of black.
- Now that you understand how X-rays work for identifying broken legs you should know you can also use X-rays to help people find a variety of internal medical problem like bleeding in the brain. For that we us our state of the art CT machine that takes dozens of X-rays all at once to create a 3D picture of the inside of your body
