Storyboard Text

  • Before 1870, The Great plains were a largely unsettled territory native people lived. The Homestead Act promise people 160 acers or land if they farm for 5 years. Billy Bob and Sandy wanted to move to the west. The lack of materials for homes, lack of rain, and extreme temperature wanted to leave.

  • Billy Bob and Sandy Bob traveled through the transcontinental railroad which made it easier to travel west out . While the couple was traveling west they passed by the Indian war sites.
  • Passing by a huge open range the couple saw a nice sod house to take shelter for the night
  • On their way to the west they encountered a windmill and a well that gave them a restock on water.
  • The couple were close to their destination and were ecstatic to see the abundant amount of supplies they were soon to have. On their way to passed by a friend farmer named Pablo, he lend them a steel plow for their travels. He also warned them about the effect of settlement because of animals eating crops and stuff.
