Storyboard Text

  • When Frederick Douglass was climbing down the stable’s ladder, Edward Covey tied Douglass’s legs with a long rope. This would be the last time Covey ever laid a hand on Douglass. As Frederick Douglass was met with the spirit, the fight commenced.
  • Okay
  • Douglass, go into the stable to rub, brush, and feed the horses.
  • Douglass began the fight by seizing Covey’s throat. The battle then continued to rage, and blood continued to run. Covey attempted to call out for help from others, but this did him no good as nobody wanted to face Douglass’s tactics. The combat would carry on for another two hours.
