Jem! I hate him! He's so mean. Ahh, it's so dark I can't see a thing!
What... *confusion* I feel something, is...is... a snake!?
What?
Sort of rough. Cold. Dusty. Why?
I think there's one under my bed. Can you come look?
How does a snake feel?
Sleep...Tired... Finally some quiet and peace from annoying little sisters.
Scout, and her brother, Jem, had a fight with each other and ended up being sent to their rooms because of the fight. Scout's angry, but she's glad that Jem had to be sent to bed as well.
Are you bein' funny?
If you think I'm gonna put my face down to a snake you've got another think comin'. Hold on a minute. I'm gettin' a broom.
You better get up on the bed.
You reckon it's really one?
Scout walks into her room and she steps onto something warm, resilient, and smooth. The thing didn't feel hard and Scout felt it move. Frightened, Scout runs to Jem's bedroom for help.
It ain't a snake. It's someone.
I heard a grunt. Do snakes grunt?
Jem is happy that he finally has peace and quiet. Scout ends up barging into the room telling him about the snake, disrupting his tranquil room.
Hey.I'm 'bout to perish. Got anything to eat?
DILL?!?!?
What on earth!?!?
At first, Jem thinks Scout is trying to play a joke on him. He asks but receives silence. He soon realizes that Scout's serious and decides to take matters into his own hands.
Cautiously, Scout gets on the bed while Jem tentatively swipes the floor. No snake comes out. Jem swipes again, only deeper. A grunt occurred from below the bed.
Slowly, Dill comes out. Amazed, Jem and Scout say nothing, they're in shock. However, Dill certainly says something, and he asks for food!
