- High schooler Rashad Butler (right) is unfairly accused of stealing from the store after school and is trying to explain himself while getting beaten by police officer Paul Galluzzo (middle).

- Rashad is in the hospital because he has internal bleeding and broken ribs among other things.
- Rashad's classmates organize a protest. They do a role call of the unarmed black people killed by the police. Rashad sees Quinn and feels that he is also really reflecting on those names.
- "'Sean Bell!Absent again today!Oscar Grant!Absent again today!'"
- POLICE
- "'Rekia Boyd!Absent again today!Ramarley Graham!Absent again today!'"...
- RASHAD IS ABSENT AGAIN TODAY
- Watch out the police are wearing riot gear!

- I dunno if I want to go to the protest anymore the tanks are crazy.
- Come on, Quinn! You said you wanted to stop walking away from things. Here is your chance!
- Quinn takes a video and talks to his brother, Will, and tells him why he went to the protest. He also sees Rashad (left).
- POLICE
- Will, this is for you. Mom always says that you have to fight for what you believe otherwise dad died for nothing. And if dad died for something he died for everybody not just for certain people.
