- My name is Mercy Otis. My family encouraged me to go to school and i did. My brother went to Harvard.
- Mercy's family encouraged her to go to school just like her brother, James.
- John. You can't make friends with the king of England. "It is time to unlock the bars, and open every gate that stands in the way of creating the American republic."
- When my brother graduated, I met my future husband. We got married and my name became Mercy Otis Warren. I decided to write about things going on in the war.
- The constitution is not enough! we must have the freedom of speech and press! We also need rights for women!
- I now had 5 children and my husband was an important leader. I began to write stories about family and nature. Requested by John Adams, I wrote a play about the Boston tea party and one about my husbands enemy.
- My ideas formed the bill of rights!
- Mercy was a great writer!
- After the war, which we won, the constitution was written. My husband and I opposed it. I wrote plays and poems about why the constitution limited state powers
