This is an external conflict between Romeo and Juliet. Both Romeo and Juliet love each other but they cant openly be together because their families are in a feud. this causes many problems later in the play.

this is an external conflict between Romeo and Tybalt. romeo does not want to kill Tybalt but Mercutio did not like that romeo did not kill Tybalt. Mercutio decided to take matters into his own hands and fight Tybalt. instead of Tybalt killing Mercutio the opposite had happen.

this is an internal conflict that Juliet is having. Her dad Lord Capulet wants her to marry Paris unknowing that she is already married to Romeo. Frair Lawrence gives her a poison to make her act dead but she is not sure if she should take it.

This is significant to the plot of the play. Since they love each other but should not they have to get married in secret and only a few people including frair Lawrence know about it. this causes problems later in the play such as now that romeo is forced to marry Paris.
since Mercutio is dead romeo wants to avenge him because he thinks its his fault the Mercutio is now dead. Romeo let his extreme emotions get the best of him and decides to start fighting Tybalt. Romeo ends up killing him and the prince and everyone else come to see what had happen and Romeo get banished from Verona.
Juliet does not know if she should take the poison and is thinking of everything that can go wrong with her plan. she first thinks about if the poison actually kills her instead of only "killing" her for 42 hours. she also thinks about if romeo doesn't show up and she will suffocate to death.
