- Chapter 1
- No one has seen Boo Radley in over 15 years!
- Chapter 2
- What do you mean he can't pay me back!
- Chapter 3
- During this part in Chapter 1 Jem Scout and Dill are discussing about Boo Radley, a mysterious neighbour that no one has seen in over 15 years and is rumoured to have stabbed his dad with a pair of scissors.
- Chapter 4
- Is there something sticking out of the tree?
- In this part of chapter 2 ,Walter Cunningham forgot to bring lunch to school. Miss Caroline offers him a quarter for lunch and says he can pay her back tomorrow. However, the Cunningham family is very poor and aren't able to pay Miss Caroline back. When Scout tries to explain the circumstances, Miss Caroline becomes very frustrated and slaps Scouts hand with a ruler
- Chapter 5
- Boo Radley is still alive!
- In this part of chapter 3 Walter and the Finch family are eating when Walter puts molasses all over his meat and vegetables. Walter is criticised by Scout who is then called to the kitchen by Calpurnia who scolds her and tells her to be a better hostess.
- Chapter 6
- I think I see someone inside!
- In this part of chapter 4 Scout passes the Radley Place and sees some tinfoil sticking out of a knothole in one of the Radleys’ oak trees. Scout reaches into the knothole and discovers two pieces of chewing gum. She chews both pieces and tells Jem about it and he panics and makes her spit it out.
- During Chapter 5 Jem and Dill grew closer which made Scout feel left out of the friendship. As a result she starts spending time with Miss Maudie Atkinson, their neighbour. They start talking about Boo Radley and she tells Scout that Boo Radley is still alive and it is her theory Boo is the victim of a harsh father who was a foot washing baptist.
- On Dill's last day in Maycomb, Jem and him decide to sneak over to the Radley Place and peek in through a loose shutter. Scout accompanies them, and they creep around the house, peering in through various windows. Suddenly, they see the shadow of a man with a hat on and flee, hearing a shotgun go off behind them. They escape under the fence by the schoolyard, but Jem’s pants get caught on the fence, and he has to kick them off in order to free himself.
