I begin to explain why the Holy Family is a perfect example to how our families should function and grow. They loved, cared, and supported each other and grew together in faith. Showing us that we should love, care, and support our family members as we grow together in faith as well as physically and emotionally. “Today we’re going to be learning more about Mary and Joseph.” I said.
I know! It was Mary Joseph, and Jesus.
Good evening children! Today we're going to be talking about the Holy Family. Does anyone know who's part of the Holy Family?
Mary was chosen to be the mother Jesus generations before she was even born. God made sure that Mary would be born pure and free of sin by making her the daughter of Anne and Joachim. Although Mary didn’t fully understand why God wanted her to be the mother of Christ, she still said “Yes” to God. Mary was free to say “No” she chose to say “Yes” because of her loyalty and faith to God. This teaches us that we trust God even though we don’t fully understand why. Mary is also a perfect example for mothers, she loved, cared and protected Jesus with all of her heart.
What do we already know about Mary?
She was the mother of Jesus!
She was visited by a angel.
When Joseph found out that Mary was pregnant yet virgin, Joseph thought that Mary was lying and betrayed him. He quietly stopped the marriage so no one in town would think badly of Mary. One day when Joseph was taking a nap an angel came to him in a dream and told him that Mary was impregnated by the Holy Spirit, meaning that Mary didn’t betray him. He married Mary and had to make a the long journey Bethlehem because the ruler of land, Caesar Augustus, wanted everyone to return back to their hometowns. Joseph is a perfect example for fathers. Joseph protected Mary from the town’s people by quietly stopping the marriage and protecting the family when they were traveling to Egypt.
Jesus's Earthly father!
Does anyone know who Joseph is?
The father of Jesus!
Jesus was born pure because of the Holy Spirit and because of Mary being free from original sin. Jesus was born in Bethlehem. His birth is very important because it was the first time where God revealed himself to all people, not just Jews. Jesus as an adult was a servant of God, he would preach about Him to all types of people and performed miracles to show the power of God. He was a loyal servant of God and was willing to do anything that God commanded Him to do. He accepted the plan that God had laid out for Him and sacrificed Himself to save us from our sins. Jesus teaches us to be loyal servants of the Lord and accept the plan that He has laid out for us.
The son of God!
Can you tell me who Jesus is?
Our savoir!
The son of Joseph!
The Holy Family inspires us to live a holy life by teaching us to be caring and loving people by following Mary’s example. Joseph teaches us to forgive those who have wronged us and protect the people around us. Jesus teaches us to spread the word of the Lord and think ourselves as humble servants of the Lord. Lastly, they teach us to accept God’s plan and obey him no matter what He asks of us.
