In "The Lost Hero" the main character Jason is struggling to find out why he is on a bus. He is very confused and worried why he is there."He woke in the backseat of a school bus, not sure where he was, holding hands with a girl he didn't know" (Riordan 1).

In "The Lost Hero" Jason is presented as having a cute kind of look with bright eyes and sharp blond hair that captures his image. "Jason stood right next to her: those blue eyes, close -cropped blond hair, that cute little scar on his upper lip. His face was kind and gentle, but always a little sad" (Riordan 33). Jason's features here represent him as being very kind and thoughtful person. Many of his features can affect people by intimidating them or persuading them.

Piper is getting bullied by these girls that continue to tease and mock her. Piper tries to keep herself cool but Jason next to her feels very annoyed and disgusted by their behavior."Piper ignored them, but Jason was ready to punch them himself" (Riordan 10). He thinks to himself that he should punch them himself showing his protective side. Because of the nasty comment's Jason believe's he should stick up for Piper and teach the girl's a lesson.
In the beginning of the story Jason is very confused and is having an instance that he is very scared and afraid to do something. In this scenario it shows Jason being afraid to be somewhere he shouldn't be. He hears storms spirit's roaring uncontrollably and hesitates."Jason had a bad feeling about that" (Riordan 120. Because he is new to these things it shows him being cautious and very aware of his surrounding's. He is cautious because he is afraid of the effects after the event.

In the story Jason is met with various people looking up to him in awe and very surprised that he is there. But Jason is not used to all the attention he is met with a lot of criticism from himself."Everyone seemed to think he was so brave and confident, but they didn't see how lost he really felt" (Riordan 166).He feels very doubtful and unworthy to himself because he thinks he isn't confident or brave. He makes himself look very useless and make's him insecure. This causes him to look down on himself.

At the end of the book throughout his journey Jason doesn't have a fear of villians. He is not scared anymore and doesn't lack any confidence. "Jason's instincts kicked in, and his gut told him he'd dueled opponents almost this big before" (Riordan 460). By battling so many enemies, nothing fazes or intimidates him anymore. He is not afraid and can own up to bigger things.
