Faith and her siblings during a story telling session with their grandparents. They were taught cultural ways and any other history.
Climax
Stories about some cultural rites such as FGM bothered Faith and when she went to sleep she plotted how to run away from her home and seek help somewhere else because she didn't want to go through that rite of passage.
Falling Action
While Faith was miles away at a missionary house, she planned how one day she would go back home and enlighten others on the impacts of FGM and rescue other young girls.
Denouement
Few years later and with the help of sponsors, Faith came back to educate people on other ways of keeping the culture alive apart from taking part in 'backward' rites such as cutting young girls.
After various talks and more teachings, the community was ready to move forward despite a few of them who still held that the rite was appropriate and they were not ready to forego it.
Faith and the community is happy and girls can go to school without any worries, they are free to be who they want to be.
