Storyboard Description

Wes gets sent to military school because his behavior was not very good and his mother began to get fed up with him. He has to learn how to go on in this unfamiliar environment and at first he is very stressed by the strict schedule and the questionable food they give him. He also has to learn that he isn’t the big guy anymore and that there are people superior to him. When he first gets their he shows a bad attitude, and he also tells his peers that he hates them.He also trys to run away multiple times because he does not like the place. They end up pranking him and giving him wrong directions that lead him out to the middle of the woods and this infuriates him. When his troops come out to get him they take him to his tactical officers room.He calls his mom when he is there and asks her if he can come home and that he’ll be better as a person, as a son and as a brother. She tells him no and that too many people have sacrificed for him to be there just so that he could become a better person. This really makes him think about his behavior and he begins to actually want to do better so he can make the people who sacrificed proud. He sees a new face at camp, Captain Ty Hill at camp, and he sees that people actually respect him, not out of intimidation just real respect. This is the kind of respect he wants to gain.At the end of the chapter the Colonel says to him “ Moore, after you are done with chow, go over to F company and ask to see the company commander he wants to see you.” He tells Wes this after he had just gotten off the phone with Wes’s mom. The scenes I chose for my storyboard are significant to the book because it shows a point in Wes’s life where he begins to change and become a better person. It shows how the people in his life motivated him and wanted the best for him even though he didn’t think so at first. These scenes show why the author Wes ended up going down a better path than the other Wes more. He was able to get the help he needed and he was shown discipline in this chapter and these scenes which led him to be a leader and to understand that what he was doing before, and when he was letting bad influences run his life wasn’t the life he needed or wanted to have.
