  • The Man’s Underestimation
  • The old man’s attempted to share his experience with the nearby winter conditions with the main character. However, the man’s insistence of ignoring the old man lead to his demise, proving the necessity to listen to other more experienced individual’s advice.

  • He is wrong. He is going to die.
  • Although the man was able to build a fire to warm his feet at first, snow fell onto the fire, extinguishing it. • My hands are completely frozen …no more fire?!
  • The ultimate death of the man compared to the survival of the dog combines the man’s stubbornness, under-estimation of nature, and unfortunate mistakes to prove that nature will always prevail over any inexperienced individual.
