- There are many reasons that caused the Civil War in 1861-1865
- Slavery
- States right caused the civil war because the south supported states rights and the north favored a strong federal government.
- Succesion
- We will use the military if you secede from the union
- Sectionalism caused the civil war because each part tried to protect their own interest like the South protected Slavery because that was what their economy was based on.
- Presidents Election
- We will preserve this most perfect union
- Slavery was a major factor to the south. And the north wanted to stop it from spreading to other territories which resulted in a cause of the Civil War.
- Slavery is bad and should be abolished!
