- Hello everyone, my name is Rachel the rock and my characteristics tend to change quite a bit. I was actually just formed into an Igneous rock due to magma cooling.
- See? I changed again! Because of the snow and wind I have changed into sediment. The process of going through something like this is called weathering.
- I am now broken down rock!
- Wow! I just turned into a sedimentary rock as the sediment I previously was went through a process called compaction, compressing all the individual pieces of sediment together.
- I have to form underground.
- It's dark in here.... but at least I am a metamorphic rock as I got heat and pressure applied to my old state.
- Remember when I was still a metamorphic rock? Well, now I am magma as my previous state has been melted! It is so hot in here....
- Wow! I have cooled and instead of magma, I am an igneous rock again! This process was so educational and I cannot wait to go through this cycle again.
- The rock cycle is the way to go!
