- Compensation is strengthening one aspect of yourself to make up for another like this man who is lifting weights because he cannot deal with the fact he is in prison.
- Reaction Formation
- Displacement is when you take out your emotions of someone else like this man who takes out his anger at work by yelling at his innocent wife.
- Repression
- Denial is refusing to face something negative like this woman if refusing to face the death of her loved one.
- Reaction Formation is to pretend you are different after a dramatic event like my friend Todd here who now goes by Jeff and says he like history.
- Repression is putting emotion into darkness and not acknowledging it like Jimmy here who cries in his room every night but never seeks help or talks about it with others.
