Storyboard Text

  • Peasants were not treated well and many were practically slaves. This created tension between the government and the peasants.
  • This citywide strike which forced the Czar to step down. This event was called the March Revolution.
  • A man named Vladimir Lenin and his party, the Bolsheviks, gain support among peasants, workers, and soldiers. Vladimir Lenin eventually called them to power and then came the October revolution. 
  • The white army consisted of a variety groups who did not support the Bolsheviks and the red army is the Soviet Union. The red army won this war.
  • Where the Red Terror was the mass killing, torture, and oppression of all who opposed the Bolsheviks. These events were set off by assassination attempt that left Vladimir Lenin permanently injured.
  • With Vladimir Lenin finally gone Joseph Stalin had more power than anyone else. Vladimir Lenin warned this would happen before he died.
