  • Mary G. Harris Jones , born Agust the firts 1837 in Cork Irland. She was aunion organizer, community organizer, and activist. Se helped coordinate major strikes and co-founded the Industrial Workers of the Worheld.She was located in Chicago.
  • Mother Jones was a fearless fighter for workers’ rights.Mary Harris Mother Jonesbecame known for his passionate work toward mine workers during the first two decades of the 20th century.Mother Jones also fought for the rights of children. In 1903 he led a children's march of 100 children from the textile mills of Philadelphia to New York City.
  • Shehelped coordinate major strikes and co-founded the Industrial Workers of the World.
  • John Mitchell, the president of the UMWA, brought Mother Jones to north-east Pennsylvania in the months of February and September to encourage unity among striking workers.
  • She welcomed African American workers and involved women and children in strikes.
  • Known as the miner's angel, Mother Jones became an active campaigner for the United Mine Workers Union. A political progressive, she was a founder of the Social Democratic Party in 1898. Jones also helped establish the Industrial Workers of the World in 1905.
