  • There are many different types of bacteria in our gut. Here are some examples:
  • The cellulolytic bacteria
  •
  • We break down a common compound in the vegetables you eat, called the cellulose, into glucose.
  • The respirators
  •
  • We, then, snatch the sugars to burn them as fuel, as we travel through your digestive tract until we reach the fermenters.
  • The fermenters
  •
  • By converting the sugars brought to us by the respirators, we get to extract the energy from them. Then we throw it up.
  • The synthops eke
  •
  • We eat some of the stuff from the fermenters' waste, which releases energy that is absorbed by the digestive tract's cells.
  • There are many more different types of bacteria in our gut. Based on a research, it is better if a person has a diverse bacteria community as it decreases the risk of getting disease and allergy. In order to have many different kinds of microbes, we must eat healthy foods that are made up of complex molecules, such as fruits and vegetables, instead of unhealthy foods which are full of simple molecules, such as lollipop and junk food. This is because the more complex, the more microbial work needed and more diverse the community gets. So, make sure to eat healthy so that our microbes can do their jobs!
