Storyboard Text

  • One day, a Hebrew was travelling from Jerusalem to Jericho all alone. He was walking on a very lonely path when he was attacked by thieves! They stripped him of his money and clothes, then the thieves beat him, and threw him on the side of the road. The poor Hebrew, lay there half-dead, with no-one around to help.
  • At last! A Hebrew Priest came. He was on the opposite side of the road to the wounded man. He looked at him, drew his robe closer to him and continued his journey to Jericho. The Priest did not think he was being cruel he just thought "He is not my neighbour, he is a stranger to me. Why should I help him?"
  • Later during the day, a Levite walked along the same path, He saw the wounded man and did not know if he was dead or alive so he walked on, not wanting to find out. He didn't think he was being cruel, he just thought "He is not my neighbour, why should I help him?". So he walked on.
  • After a while, a Samaritan came by, once again, he was on the opposite path to the beaten Hebrew. Samaritans and Hebrews have been known to be natural enemies at that time. Unlike the others, the Samaritan treated the Hebrews wounds with wine and oil and took him to the nearest inn.
  • The Samaritan paid the inn keeper two silver coins and also any other extra expenses used on the wounded man. He also told the inn keeper to take care of the Hebrew until he comes back from his journey.
