The French Revolution was when the peasants and oppressed peoples of France revolted against the monarchy and its absolute power.
We cannot afford food & we are starving. We must rebel!
The monarchy enjoyed extravagant food and luxuries while the peasants suffered. This lead to the revolution.
Both sides fought violently; many soldiers and civilians were killed. Historians estimate 40,0000 people were killed.
