- After learning that they are going to have to travel alone, Both of them are distressed and unhappy.
- Ok kids, I am going to have to leave you alone now. You have to travel the rest of the way yourselves.
- But mom what if we get lost or taken away?!
- It feels as if we are not going to see you for the rest of our lives!

- At St. Louiseville station, the kids say their final goodbyes before the journey where they would have to travel alone.

- In Stamps, both of them are completely alone with only name tags to recognise them.
