  • EXPOSITION
  • Next to me is my brother Raymond . He is much older and bigger than me. However, he is still my brother. So, you mess with him and you mess with me.
  • Hi I'm Squeaky and I am the fastest thing on two feet. I may be a little girl with skinny arms and a squeaky voice. However, don't let that fool you.
  • INCITING INCIDENT (Conflict)
  • 1...2.....3....4....5....6....7
  • RISING ACTION
  • You signing up for the May Day Races Squeaky? Because if you are, I don't think you're going to win this time.
  • I always win cause I'm the best.
  • The protagonist Squeaky and her brother, Raymond, live in New York City. Squeaky's brother Raymond happens to have a disability. Therefore, Squeaky dedicates herself to taking care of him to prevent him from getting injured or bullied by others.
  • CLIMAX
  • In first place is Miss Hazel Elizabeth Deborah Parker. In second place, Miss Gretchen P. Lewis.
  • Squeaky and Raymond jog through the city as Squeaky is a very competitive person and trains hard for the May Day race which she takes part in and wins every year.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • While jogging through the city in preparation for the race, Squeaky comes across Gretchen, Mary Louise and Rosie. During their interaction, Rosie attempted to destroy Squeaky's confidence and see what trouble they could get into through Raymond. However, Squeaky maintained her confidence despite their efforts to diminish it and protected her brother against their comments.
  • RESOLUTION
  • I wonder if Gretchen would like to help me coach Raymond, after all she is a serious and good runner.
  • Squeaky wins the race against Gretchen. However, this did not come as a surprise to Squeaky as she knew her winning the May Day race once again was going to happen.
  • After witnessing Raymond on his first run on the other side of the fence, Squeaky determines that Raymond would make a fine runner. This ultimately leads to her making the decision that she would be honored to retire as a runner and begin a new career as Raymond's coach as she would be proud to help him develop his skills, continuing the family tradition.
  • Raymond would actually make a very fine runner. I can always retire and begin my new career as his coach. After all, I have a room full of ribbons, medals, and awards. However, what does Raymond have?
  • Squeaky and Gretchen exchanged a smile. This came as a result of Squeaky finally acknowledging Gretchen's racing abilities and showing her respect towards her. This expresses Squeaky gaining maturity. Therefore, signifying that maturity when learned by an individual will gain you respect regardless of what you hope to achieve. This is because if it had not been for her finally acknowledging others and their skills she would not have gotten a real smile from a girl, something which girls apparently never do according to Squeaky.
