Arachne
Storyboard Description
Arachne was considered the best mortal weaver. When she is compared to the goddess Athena and she insists that she is even better than her, Athena disguises herself as an old woman to approach her. Arachne continues to express that Athena could challenge her, so Athena reveals herself. Silently, they each get a loom and begin to weave. It is very apparent that Athena's is better. Arachne is embarrassed, ready to hang herself, but Athena stops her, turning her into a spider so that she has to weave for the rest of eternity and remind man not to challenge the gods.

- I am even better than Athena! Let her challenge me.
- Arachne is the best weaver in all the lands! The only one who can best her is Athena herself!
- If Athena resents my words, let her answer them herself. I have challenged her to a contest, but she, of course, will not come. It is easy for the gods to avoid matching their skill with that of men.”
- Reckless girl. How dare you claim to be equal to the immortal gods themselves?
- It's Athena herself! They're going to challenge each other..
- They're both so fast.. but look at how beautiful Athena's is!
