Storyboard Text

  • Charles and Nikita's storyboard
  • Saliva is an enzyme that causes chemical reactions  which breaks down the food . Saliva and the tongue makes it easier to swallow the food.
  • I have a digestive test and I need hep with it, can you help me?
  • Sure, digestion first starts in your mouth.
  • You use your teeth to break down the food, and your food is mixed up with saliva.
  • In your throught there is a flap called the epiglottis. It prevents food from entering the airway
  • Then the peristalsis which is in your esophagus pushes all of the food to your stomach. The peristalsis is not only in the esophagus but it is all over the digestive system.
  • Then what happens?
  • The pancreas produce enzymes and the liver digestive juices which get sent to the gall bladder.
  • Right, The small intestine, I remember learning about the small intestine.
  • Then when there is food in your stomach, the gall bladder will release all of the enzymes, digestive juices and acids to break down the food.
  • The small intestine is where most of the digestion happens.
  • Then the peristalsis pushes the food into the small intestine.
  • In the small intestine there are these finger like things called villi. They absorb in all of the nutrients.
  • It takes about 8-12 hours for the food to pass the small intestine and the small intestine is 20-25 feet long.
  • Although it takes 24 to 36 hours for the whole process to take place.
  • lastly, the peristalsis pushes the food to the large intestine. The large intestine is where the water leaves the food.
  • What ever that does not get digested become waste. The rectum is where the waste is stored, It stays there until it is ready to come out.
  • The apendex has no use.
  • Thank you for helping me study for my test! Bye!
  • No problem, It is an honor helping you!  Bye!
