- "It's ten bucks, chief. I tole ya that. Ten bucks for a throw, fifteen bucks till noon. I tole ya that."

- This scene is when Holden meets Sunny, who he had paid Maurice for to spend some time with her.This scene is significant because the whole rest of chapter 13 is his encounter with her & she is also in chapter 14. One important quote is when Holden states, "don't you feel like talking for a while," this is important because reveals that Holden was just feeling lonely & just wanted some company. Another important quote is when Sunny states, "This is a five. It costs ten," which reveals the plot in chapter 14.
- In this scene, Maurice is telling Holden that he owes him $10 instead of $5, Sunny is next to Maurice during this scene. This scene is significant because this is what causes Holden to get punched by Maurice. One important quote is when Maurice states, "Chief, you're gonna force me inna roughin' ya up a little bit..," this revelas that a conflict is about to happenn. Another important quote is when Holden states, "you're a dirty moron," which triggers Maurice in punching Holden.
- This scene is when Holden meets the two nuns while he was eating breakfast. Holden sees one of the nuns holding a basket & asks her if they were accepting donations. This scene is significant because this chapter is about Holden's encounter with the two nuns. One important quote is when one of the nuns state, "you're a very sweet boy," this reveals that Holden is caring towards people he likes. Another important quote is when the same nun states, "we've enjoyed talking to you so much," which sums up the conversation between the nuns & Holden.
