- "Something deep in Ralph spoke for him. 'I'm chief. I'll go. Don't' argue.". This quote is important because it shows what kind of leader Ralph is. Ralph is the leader of the Island. He is hardworking and willing to get what needs to be done done. The author seems to think that Ralph is one of the most important people on the island. I like Ralph he is calm and determined to get off this island and is willing to work to build shelters and fire while the rest are off playing.
- Simon
- "Come away. There’s going to be trouble. And we’ve had our meat." This quote shows that piggy is very uncomfortable but is still very smart and trustworthy. Piggy is pretty much "the head engineer" of the island. Even though no one really likes him they need him for survival. The author seems to feel that Piggy is both needed and not needed. I feel that the kids on the island need to keep Piggy for he is the brightest in smarts.
- Sam'n'Eric
- " We'll hunt. I'm going to be chief". This quote shows that Jack is a very self-centered person. Jack is the head hunter. He is hot-headed and is always mad at either PIggy or Ralph, but he is driven. The author has Jack as the main conflict starter. I don't like Jack because he is rude, mean, and does nothing really for the survival of the rest.
- Roger
- "I wanted--to go to a place...just a place I know. A place in the jungle." This quote shows that Simon is helpful but he it still very shy and needs time to himself Simon is emotional, but he is one of the few that are willing to work to build shelters and to help others survive. Simon is seen by the authoras one of the kids that is on Ralph's side most of the time. I like Simon as well he is nice to most of the kids and still fights for what he thinks is right.
- "'Here!' Said Sam suddenly. 'Take this-- Ralph felt a chunk of meat pushed against and grabbed it."This quote shows how Sam and Eric, even though they are sworn to Jack they are still loyal to Ralph. Sam and Eric are twins who are always together. They are close friends with Ralph. The author likes sam and eric for they are on Ralph's side. I like Sam and Eric because they are loyal to Ralph.
- "You couldn't stop me coming if I wanted." this quote shows that Roger is a big bully, he wants to be dominating over everyone else. Roger is one of Jack's hunters who leaves to join Jack's clan. He is big and means. The author seems to not really like him. I don't like him because he is very mean
