I wonder why this house is so decayed and overgrown.
The narrator receives a letter that his childhood friend, Usher, has gotten very sick.
It's so nice to see you.
I can't believe she is dead.
That's the last time I'll ever get to see her.
The narrator gets on his horse and leaves for the journey to the house of Usher.
The narrator arrives at the house, walks through the door, and comes up to the Usher family's physician, who helped him throughout the house to get to Usher.
The narrator walks into the room of Usher, and he can't believe his eyes; Usher looks like he is basically dead. Then, disaster strikes, Usher's sister, who is his wife, passes away and is taken to the dungeon.
Usher and the narrator take his sister, Madeline, to the dungeon to put her to rest in a coffin, so she can forever be in peace.
A couple days go by and Usher is beginning to go crazy as his sickness is getting worse and worse. One night they start to hear noises coming from the coffin. The, out of cold blood, Madeline comes in and kills her brother Usher.
